Disable Apple AI on iPhone

Apple continues to integrate more AI-driven tools into its ecosystem, from Siri suggestions to on-device intelligence in apps like Photos, Safari, and Mail. While some users find these features helpful, others prefer more control or a simpler experience.

Disable Siri Suggestions and Intelligence

Siri uses on-device learning to make app and content suggestions based on your habits.

    To turn this off:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Siri and Search
    • Disable options like Suggestions in Search, Suggestions in Look Up, and Suggestions on Lock Screen

You can also scroll down and disable Siri access or learning for specific apps

Photos App AI (Visual Look Up and Memories)

The Photos app uses AI to recognize faces, objects, and locations.

    To limit this:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Photos
    • Disable Show Featured Content to stop AI-generated memories and suggestions

You can also remove face recognition data manually by editing People albums inside Photos.

    Safari AI Features

Safari now includes AI-powered search suggestions and content previews.

    To disable these:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Safari
    • Turn off Search Engine Suggestions and Safari Suggestions

This stops Apple from offering AI-based search completions.

    Keyboard Predictions and On-Device Learning

iOS learns how you type and offers word suggestions based on your habits.

    To disable:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap General > Keyboard
    • Turn off Predictive and Auto-Correction

You can also reset the keyboard dictionary under Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary

    Siri Voice Processing

Recent updates include more on-device Siri processing. While you cannot fully remove Siri, you can reduce its reach.

    To limit Siri:

    • Go to Settings
    • Tap Siri and Search
    • Turn off Listen for Hey Siri, Press Side Button for Siri, and Allow Siri When Locked

    Final Notes

Apple’s AI features are often processed on-device by default, but many still influence your experience behind the scenes. These steps help you take more control and minimize AI involvement in your daily phone usage.
